Many of them experienced multiple debits to their checking accounts this morning, resulting in their balances being zero or even negative in some cases. The site is inaccessible and many of X’s customers complain about the inconvenience recorded on their checking accounts. In some cases, the problem resolved itself during the morning after the outage had lasted several hours.

This morning, a warning to customers appeared in the institute’s app: “There may be multiple debits in current account transactions.” We have identified the cause of the anomaly and are already working to restore the situation as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience”.

Asked by republic, a spokesman for the bank explained: “There was a technical issue that resulted in unusual debits being made on some customers’ current accounts.” The bank is resolving the issue and has communicated the anomaly to customers across all channels. The bank has understood the nature of the problem and will resolve everything as quickly as possible. Unusual charges will be reversed.”

It is not yet clear what may have caused the system problems and there is currently no evidence of a possible cyberattack. However, the website crash should be related to the issue in question.
