The New York Yankees have been in cruise control atop the AL East essentially the entire 2022 season and come into play Tuesday as the best baseball team with a 66-31 record.

While an extinguished bullpen, elite starting rotation and deadly offense led by AL MVP contender Aaron Judge received most of the fanfare, fellow Judge basher Giancarlo Stanton is also having a great season, at least in the food department. Although the 32-year-old’s current .228 batting average, .309 on-base percentage and .807 OPS would be career lowStanton also has 24 homers and 61 RBIs in 289 at-bats and 80 games so far.

The two-time Silver Slugger Award winner and 2017 NL MVP was recently named All-Star for the fifth time, his first time since his final season with the Miami Marlins in his MVP season.

On Tuesday, Yankees fans got some bad news about the slugger.
