When Univision Anchor asks Kamala Harris when she’ll be heading to Border, VP Snaps: “I’m not done”
In an interview on Univision on Thursday night, things got a little tense between Vice President Kamala Harris and anchor Ilia Calderón when the Vice President was asked when she could visit the southern border.
Since, after all, Harris was appointed by President Joe Biden to lead the immigration crisis, Calderón understandably did his journalistic duty and asked Harris why she hadn’t visited the US-Mexico border yet.
This is the second time in a week that Harris has gone defensive after a reporter asked her why she had not visited the border during the ongoing border crisis.

Vice President Harris seems irritated by border issue
“I said I was going to the border,” Harris said at anchor. “And me-“
Calderón interrupted Harris, “When are you going to the border, Vice President?”
It seemed to frustrate Harris.
“I have not finished,” retorted the vice president. Harris followed her remark with a familiar chuckle.

“I said I was going to the border,” Harris insisted. “And also, if we want to solve the problems at the border, we have to solve the problems that cause people to go to the border, to flee to the border. “
Harris continued, “So my first trip as Vice President of the United States was to go – in terms of travel overseas – to Guatemala, to be on the ground to approach and to be briefed. root causes for which people from Guatemala depart.
Calderón pushed again: “Do you have a date for your trip to the border?”
“I’ll keep you posted,” replied Harris.
Twitter has fun with a frustrated Harris
Of course, social media ate the exchange.
Harris’ brief rebuke of the Univision presenter has gone viral on social media.

“Sexist-racist enough for Calderon to interrupt Harris like that,” scoffed Washington Free Beacon reporter Chuck Ross.

Harris broke earlier this week on a similar question
Political Insider reported earlier this week on Harris’ defensive response to a similar question from NBC’s Lester Holt.
“At one point, you know, we go to the border. We went to the border, ”said Harris. “So all that, all that, all that border stuff,” Fox News noted.

“We went to the border. We went to the border, ”Harris repeated.
“You didn’t go to the border,” Holt reminded the vice president.
“And I haven’t been to Europe,” replied Harris, again with his characteristic chuckle.
Grimace. Kamala Harris doesn’t understand.
Holt: “Are you planning to visit the border?
Harris: “We went to the border. We have been the frontier.
Holt: “YOU didn’t go to the border.
