Former Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy took to Fox News this weekend to castigate President Joe Biden for his troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“Trey, you hear these stories, and we hear about the success of the thousands and thousands of people who have come out of it,” said Fox News host Bret Baier. “But there are a lot more Afghans in particular who won’t get out, and there are Americans who won’t be making that last plane either.”

Gowdy is ringing off

“Okay, Bret, that’s why this August 31 deadline that he won’t budge from makes absolutely no sense. And just in case people don’t know about ISIS-K, it’s a new name.” Gowdy replied. “Bret, this is the group that went to the maternity ward of a hospital and killed infants and new mothers. This is who was released from prison.

“This is what is left in Afghanistan,” he continued. “So why we are so determined to leave on August 31 when we have people helping us behind, I don’t understand.”

Double gowdy

Later in the segment, Gowdy started doubling down.

“I am in the minority, I think, in our country,” he said. “Any exit plan that depends on whether the Taliban keeps their word or joins the 21st century, I think that is a flawed plan. And it doesn’t matter if it’s a Republican or Democratic president. This is the group, I think, that still stones rape victims. And we’re going to rely on them to make sure the Americans get out of Afghanistan and keep the law and order?

“Is it the group that maintains law and order?” Gowdy continued. “They might be better than ISIS-K, but that doesn’t mean much. Is-k kills newborn babies. It doesn’t mean much.

Gowdy rips in Biden

Last week, Gowdy tore Biden apart for the situation in Afghanistan.

“Biden said America is back, he was wrong. the Taliban are back, ”Gowdy said. “What about America? Well America is going. Leaving women and children. Leave those who believed in us. Leave those who risked and gave their lives for us.

“America does not leave women, girls, children, our friends or our fellow citizens behind, period. Greatness comes at a price,” he concluded. “What we see in Afghanistan is not not American greatness It is an American failure.
