Shaq takes a punch from Kevin Durant that’s almost as vicious as the one he took from Brad Miller back in the day.

Former Basketball Hall of Famer ripped Brooklyn Nets star Durant in an appearance this week on “The Rich Eisen Show.” O’Neal criticized Durant for wanting to leave the team he essentially helped build.

“When you build a house, you have to live in it,” O’Neal said of former MVP Durant. “You were the architect. You have hired another architect [James Harden]. And now the other architect is in Philadelphia.

“You as the leader should make it work,” O’Neal added. “But you don’t want it to work out, I guess you’re going to buy another house.” You know he’s probably trying to reach a competitor. It’s easier that way. »

O’Neal makes some big points here. On the one hand, Durant picked the Nets franchise, picked his head coach (Steve Nash), and picked his teammates (Harden, Kyrie Irving and others)… only to run for the backdoor once the adversity struck. Even sweeter, Durant listed the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat among his favorite trade destinations…teams that were already at the top of their respective conferences last season.

These O’Neal comments are similar to what one of his distinguished colleagues said about Durant even before Durant asked for a trade in Brooklyn. While Durant’s god game speaks for itself, his tendency to take the easy route instead of weathering the storm where he stands will only continue to draw more and more criticism.
