Bahubali Shete, Asha Shete and Tinychef, the culinary artificial intelligence platform of famed Masterchef Sanjeev Kapoor, is set to acquire Zelish for an undisclosed amount. Techstars accelerator and company backed by Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances, Zelish was founded two years ago by Rakesh Edavalath, Saakshi Jain and Arpit Joseph.

By acquiring Zelish, Tinychef will also have access to the 125,000 users of the application, 35% of whom are monthly active users.

Speaking on the acquisition of Zelish, the co-founder said Saakshi Jain. “With Tinychef pictured, users can expect a completely hands-free experience. We look forward to the Zelish app spreading across the Indian subcontinent and also strengthening its global presence in the North American market. “

People will soon be able to enjoy the Zelish experience with voice assistants like Alexa instead of back and forth on recipe videos. “

Almost 4 million recipes have been requested and over 1.7 million meals have been prepared using the Tinychef skill on Alexa in India alone and over half a million recipes have been prepared in Zelish’s aid last year, according to a statement.

“Tinychef already has over one million users and over 100,000 monthly active users in India and within a month of its launch it has gathered over 25,000 users in North America, most of the user base belonging to the US and Canadian markets, ”added statement said.

The company has raised more than $ 2 million in venture capital. The latest round of funding of $ 1 million was led by accelerator Venture Catalysts. Tinychef is also part of the inaugural cohort of Google for Startups Accelerator: Voice and AI Accelerator Program.

Zelish allows users to plan meals, purchase ingredients, and cook based on recipes from celebrity chefs and influencers like Ranveer Brar & Hebbar’s Kitchen.
