A new leak may have given us the Pixel 7 release date
- The Pixel 7 launch event could reportedly take place on October 6.
- It is said that these phones will go on sale from October 13.
Google surprised us in May when it confirmed the existence of the Pixel 7 series phones and gave us a look at their designs. The company only confirmed a fall 2022 launch window at the time, but now a YouTuber and frequent leaker may have given us the exact date.
John Prosser of Front page fan Citing “highly credible sources”, it said the Pixel 7 series will go on pre-order on October 6 and will be available from October 13. Prosser also suggests that the October 6th pre-order date will be the date of the launch event.
The YouTuber has a pretty good track record of device launches in recent years, accurately predicting an October 19 launch for the Pixel 6 series, as well as the release date of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4. But he’s also missed a few things, like the erroneous claim that the Pixel 5a has been canceled. However, an October launch certainly seems appropriate for Google.
We expect the new phones to follow suit with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. That means a 90Hz OLED display and dual rear camera setup for the standard Pixel 7, and a 120Hz OLED panel and triple rear camera system for the Pro device. It is also expected that Google will release the second generation Tensor chipset in new phones.
We’ll know more on the official release date, but hopefully Google will also address the many issues we’ve seen with the Pixel 6 series.
